What are zinc anodes and why are they so important to maintain your boat?
Your boat’s different metal parts are suspended in saltwater that contains electrolytes which cause galvanic corrosion. To prevent this electrolysis damage Zinc Anodes are used to protect your boat’s metal parts underwater.
The unprotected metals on your propellers, propeller shafts, outdrives, metal rudders, trim tabs and thru hull fittings will erode and damage these parts. Maintaining your Zinc Anodes can save unnecessary costly repairs and replacement of parts.
